Are you looking to spice up your breakfast, lunch or snack game? Does avocado toast hold a very special place in your heart? Want to feel like you’re out for brunch every single day of the week, inside your own kitchen!? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you have GOT to try out some of our delicious ROYO Toast ideas!
Let’s not beat around the bush - ROYO’s wide range of bread flavors are just screaming out for some equally delicious toppings. There are so many possibilities when it comes to flavor combinations, and the best part is how quickly and easily these recipes come together. No crazy chef skills are required, but expect some crazy tasty results. Happy toast-ing, friends!
ROYO’s herby Za’atar bread featuring toasted sesame seeds, dried sumac, oregano, marjoram and thyme pairs perfectly with other Middle Eastern flavors, making this a combo to DIE for. If you’ve never tried tahini before, think of it as a runny, rich sesame nut butter, full of healthy fats. Available at most supermarkets, simply pick up a jar on your next grocery run, bring it home and immediately spread a thin layer onto your ROYO Za’atar toast, before topping with a generous drizzle of honey. Whilst tahini by itself has a definite savory taste, the sweet-savory combination of the two is totally delicious and moreish. Once you start, you won’t be able to stop!
Who doesn’t love a spicy chili kick to get their endorphins going in the morning!? This toast makes for a mouthwatering, well-rounded breakfast, with protein and fiber-packed bread, healthy fats from that jammy egg yolk and tons of nutrients and antioxidants from the spinach. Simply chop and sauté your preferred amount of garlic in a large, wide pan over medium heat for one minute, before adding two generous handfuls of fresh spinach and a pinch of salt and pepper. Spinach reduces hugely as it cooks, so don’t be alarmed if this looks like a lot at first! Toss the mixture in the pan until just wilted and remove from heat, draining any excess liquid. For your soft-boiled egg, 6 minutes in gently boiling water followed by a 2-minute plunge into iced water before peeling should produce perfect results every time!
Ah, avocado toast – our old friend, the OG. It felt only appropriate to use The Original ROYO Bread for this delicious and customizable classic. Grab your perfectly ripe avocado (aka the unicorn of foods), thinly slice and lay on top of your toast. Top with crumbled, salty feta cheese and, our personal favorite, Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel seasoning blend. If you don’t have access to this, you can make your own using poppy seeds, sesame seeds (white and black), minced dried garlic, minced dried onion and flaked sea salt. For an extra kick, add some dried red chili flakes!
This delicious combo is perfect for when you’re craving something sweet. Toast a slice of Cinnamon Raisin bread to your preferred doneness and mix in a squeeze of honey and a sprinkling of cinnamon to your favorite cream cheese (works perfectly with dairy-free cream cheese too!). Spread a layer of honey-cinnamon cream cheese onto your toast and top with a handful of fresh, tangy raspberries for the ideal sweet treat.
Last but certainly not least, the humble tuna salad, pickles and rye combo – a New York deli classic, and for good reason. The deep, earthiness of ROYO’s rye bread goes perfectly with creamy tuna mayonnaise and tangy pickled cucumbers. Tuna salad preferences definitely vary, but feel free to take inspo from some of our suggested additions, including: mayonnaise or mayo alternatives, chopped celery, lemon juice, a squeeze of mustard, salt and pepper, minced garlic and even a handful of crunchy diced apple pieces or some sweet pickle relish!
