Meet our Influencers: Nutritionist and Recipe Developer, María Fernanda Lopez


ROYO: Hi, Maria! Thanks for sitting down with us today.

To start off, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Maria: Hi there, of course! My name is Maria and I’m actually Latina, from Mexico. 

I’m also a nutritionist; I studied nutrition at university, but never really dedicated myself to it as a career. Instead, I became a full-time blogger.

ROYO: Wow, that’s awesome!
Tell us more about your blog.

Maria: I started my blog back in 2018, around the same time that I started college. I love creating recipes, sharing them, and fusing healthy creations with fun, nostalgia, and my own personal touch, such as incorporating Mexican flavors.

ROYO: That’s very cool to hear!
You now have over 30,000 followers on Instagram - what’s your secret to blogging success? 

Maria: I think the most important thing is to stay true to yourself and post the kind of recipes thatyou would like to see and create. 

Also, engaging a lot with your audience and keeping up with different social media platforms is important; I’m on PinterestTikTokFacebook and, of course, Instagram and my blog.  

ROYO: Wow! That’s great advice.

You’ve mentioned your diverse recipes and creations. Would you say you follow a healthy diet in general?

Maria: My blog is usually healthy, but also balanced. I don’t label myself as gluten free, or dairy free, or veganpaleo, or keto. But I do try to eat nourishing foods.

It’s interesting, I’ve seen a lot of trends come and go since starting this blog – the keto madness, the clean ingredients trend (eating nothing that you can’t pronounce!), and now the more recent encouragement of an intuitive eating lifestyle.

ROYO: That is super interesting.
Balance is definitely key when it comes to a healthy lifestyle... 

Which leads us to ROYO! What is your favorite thing about ROYO Bread?

Maria: ROYO bread is a healthier alternative to regular bread. I love that it’s low calorie, very versatile, high protein and high fiber. That makes it a great staple for me.

Do you happen to have a favorite ROYO Bread Co. product, and if so, why?

Maria: At the moment, it’s the Cinnamon Raisin Low Carb Keto Bagels for sure. They’re incredible and super fluffy. Overall, the bagels are my favorite product, because of that amazing fluffiness – I just love them.

ROYO: We can’t get enough of those bagels, either!
Anything in particular you love to make with them?

Maria: Yes! I love making sandwiches and also creating my Caramel Cinnamon Raisin Bagel Banana French Toast! It tastes absolutely amazing – you can check out the recipe and pictures on my Instagram page.
